Actor Stephen Baldwin (brother of Alec Baldwin, William Baldwin, Daniel Baldwin) became a born-again Christian only few years ago, but he is quickly growing and getting involved in evangelism. We recently discovered that he is working with evangelist Luis Palau on a youth film project (“Livin’ It”). In addition, he has completed production on a totally separate project, a new, end-times, dramatic, motion picture, being released direct to DVD/video on June 29, 2004.

“SIX: The Mark Unleashed” is set in the last days before Armageddon when a brutal dictator rules Earth. Using high-tech surveillance from satellites through a sophisticated chip implant, the Community Police Force infiltrates every facet of human existence, tracing each physical and digital footprint left behind. For humanity, freedom is just a fond memory and defiance means death. Two political prisoners (David White, Kevin Downes) meet a mysterious stranger (Stephen Baldwin) who holds the key to their escape and mankind’s survival. Unbeknownst to the prisoners, CPF agents broker a deal with an inmate (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) for his life in exchange for betraying Christian renegades. These three unlikely allies must escape the executioner’s blade, thwart a manhunt by elite CPF operatives (Amy Moon, Brad Heller) and join forces with the world’s most wanted fugitive: the leader of the resistance (Cosimo Michael). If they fail, humanity will be marked for death, the resistance will collapse and the enemy will have taken every last life.

Why make another end times movie? The producer says that one reason is that this movie is “character driven” which allows viewers to put themselves in the character’s shoes. “What would you do given the choice? …The story follows the main characters who are not Christian and who have refused to take the required mark. All the while refusing to make a choice until their time to choose is forcefully narrowed to just days. An ultimatum is made… defiance means death.”

“Stephen Baldwin surprised me. He plays a role that I have never seen him play before. He is an astonishing performer to watch. He was a joy to have on the set. You can really see that he is trying to live out his ‘new found’ faith,” said Downes.

Actor, family man, born-again Christian, Baldwin makes his home in upstate New York with his wife and two young daughters. Stephen is the youngest brother in the well known Baldwin family of actors. Right now he is currently traveling as a speaker with Teen Mania Ministries to help bring Christ into the lives of teenagers throughout the nation.

After viewing the movie, San Antonio Pastor John Hagee said, “The power of the gospel to transform the lives of the characters is shown with deeply moving reality. So real is the presentation of the plan of salvation in this movie, the viewer will be left without excuse.”

Dr. Jack Van Impe, President of JVIM International notes, “Both Rexella and I believe this to be the greatest religious release we have ever watched. I know you will be tremendously moved as never before when viewing this Holy Spirit led production.”

Due to anticipation of the film’s direct-to-video release it has already pre-sold 250,000 units into the Christian marketplace. “We are happy about the amount of interest in SIX amongst ministries and Christian bookstores,” said Bobby Downes, CEO of, Inc. “Many stores are expecting this to be one of their strongest selling videos of the year.”

SIX: The Mark Unleashed was created by the award-winning producers at Signal Hill Pictures who also produced “Mercy Streets,” “Lay It Down,” “The Moment After,” and “Time Changer.”

Director Kevin Downes produced Mercy Streets, and co-wrote and produced The Moment After, with David White. Kevin recently produced the Giant Records/Warner Bros. short film/music video for Clay Walker’s “Chain of Love,” nominated for a CMA Music Video of the Year award. Kevin’s other producing credits include Lay It Down and the most recent Time Changer, theatrically released in 2002.
