Justice Pictures and IMD Films are releasing the Dove Foundation approved film, “The Reconciler,” which includes the first appearance of Canadian professional wrestler and actor Roddy Piper in a film since his passing on July 30, 2015. “The Reconciler” also stars Sherry Morris of “The Book of Ruth.” The film is now available in all Walmart stores through an exclusive agreement with Black Wolf Media Group and Origin Releasing. It can also be found on Amazon as well as Comcast/Verizon, OnDemand and iTunes. Sales are expected to be brisk, especially during the holiday season.
“The Reconciler” centers around a mysterious captor that takes estranged people and holds them against their will until they reconcile. At the same time, a female reporter (Sherry Morris) is assigned by her editor (Roddy Piper) to investigate the ever present darkness he feels is pervading the world.
“Besides producing a suspenseful and entertaining film, the real vision is to get people to consider their relationships with others and with God,” says Director and Co-Writer Shawn Justice. “There really is no other film like it out there and so we’re excited to see what God can truly do in the lives of the people who see it.”
On working with the legendary Roddy Piper, Shawn says,
“Roddy was very genuine, such a gracious attitude for someone who had been in the business for so long. He was well loved by so many; in the wrestling world as well as the film world. I feel without a doubt he is Heaven-side as he and I had conversations about it. The release of this film is bittersweet, but I’m sure he’d be proud.”
The movie was shot on RED/4K in Portland by Justice Pictures with local crew and actors. Sponsors of the film include Stinson Press. Justice Pictures was established in 1999 as a faith-based production company which recently wrapped, “Out of the Darkness” with academy nominated actor Graham Greene, partnering with Hydra Entertainment. The companies are planning to shoot a faith-based Western in February 2016, as well as several other titles in 2016.
