Innocent lives hang in the balance on the uncertain impulses of a murderer in “Thr3e.” When a young seminary student is targeted by a psychopathic killer, he joins forces with a criminal psychologist whose brother was murdered by the same madman. Together they must unravel the killers riddles and catch him before he strikes again, but the closer they get, the more twisted the path becomes. Based on the award-winning novel, hailed by Publishers Weekly as an almost perfect blend of suspense mystery, and horror, this is a story about truth over evil which is designed to keep viewers riveted, right up to the final moment when a mysterious sin is revealed.
Thr3e is directed by Robby Henson (The Visitation). The cast includes Marc Blucas (First Daughter, The Alamo, We Were Soldiers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Justine Waddell (Mystery of Natalie Wood, Wives and Daughters (mini-series), Great Expectations), Bill Moseley (Devils Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses). Producers for the film include X-Men Producer and Christian Ralph Winter, Joe Goodman and Bobby Neutz (Left Behind, Hangmans Curse), Executive Producers are Jerry Rose, Max Ryan, and Mark Sledziewski.
The film is being released by the new FoxFaith, a faith-based division of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. They are marketing the film with support materials to over 70,000 churches, 9,000 thought leaders, and over one million postcards to the homes of FoxFaith consumers. A national campaign has been launced for the TV, radio and newspaper medias. Circle Media is focusing on the market segments of Ted Dekker fans, Christian youth leaders, Christian college students, and promotions on MySpace and YouTube. Christian retailers, including Family Christian Stores, Lifeway Stores, Berean Christian Stores, Mardel and leading independent Christian retailers are sponsoring various in-house promotions and specially-priced movie tickets.
Author Ted Dekker describes the film as an exploration of Romans 7:14-25, in which Paul describes the struggle with sin we all face on a daily basis by stating, The good that I would, that I do not, but the evil I would not, that I do.
It struck me while setting this story up that there are three personalities in this sentence, the good, the evil, and the I, that soul struggling between good and evil. Thr3e seeks to show two primary truths. 1) That struggle is very real, and 2) Man is powerless to win that struggle on his own.
Christian cable television company Total Living Network (TLN) of Aurora, Illinois, is a producing partner in the film, “Thr3e” with Namesake Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox for the January 5th theatrical release to more than 450 screens nationwide and in Canada. Jery Rose, President of Total Living Network and Executive Producer of the film states that “Thr3e” is a very suspenseful film that digs deep into the conflict between good and evil we all have to confront. While it is not an overtly Christian film, it has a strong redemptive message. It is a very well produced, well acted film that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is the third theatrically released film for TLN.
