Hollywood-based screenwriting program Act One brings its intensive training course to Seattle this September. Instructors Jack Gilbert and Thom Parham will cover the craft of writing for TV and film, the business of working in Hollywood, and what it all means for followers of Christ. September 16-17, 2005.

Dr. Thom Parham is an assistant professor of Cinema and Broadcast Arts at
Azusa Pacific University. He has written for the CBS hit drama JAG and the
Family Channel sitcom “Big Brother Jake” as well as working on “Touched By
Angel.” His specialties include Screenwriting, Broadcast Journalism,
Television Production, and Media Studies. Thom is listed in the 2002
edition of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. He is currently
collaborating on the book for Inside Out, a new musical comedy based on
the Gospels, which APUs Drama Ministry team will tour this fall and
winter. Thom is also the Coordinator of Act Ones Before Act One Seminars.
Jack Gilbert is on the staff of Act One organizing our Television
Writing Programs, and working with our alumni screenwriters. Jack is the
former Workshop Director of the industrys most prestigious and successful
television writing program, the Warner Bros. Writers Workshop. Jack has
been a freelance reader for the William Morris Agency, NBC, and MTM
Productions. He has consulted on projects ranging from “Batman Forever” to “The Addams Family.”
