In 1981, Chet Bitterman and his family was working under Wycliffe Bible Translators in Colombia when he was kidnapped by rebels and held hostage for 48 days. This compelling, unique, Ethnic Dinner Theater from Wycliffe’s Northwest Regional Office tells the story of Chet’s capture, highlighting the care he showed for his kidnappers, the concern for his family and true faithfulness to his Lord that ended in martyrdom.
Churches throughout the Western U.S. will be hosting “Martyred” this Spring. A love offering will be taken to cover the Dinner Theatre’s expenses and to help raise funds for church missions projects.
The NWRO is also launching a new play Fall 2002 based on Joanne Shetler’s experience in the Philippines (adapted from her book, And The Word Came With Power). Attention Actors—the office is looking for about five Filipino-looking actors, four Caucasian-or-whatever actors, one technician (experience with sound a plus) and three or four tour managers.
